"As a contemporary artist, I often use recognizable, traditional images abstractly or metaphorically to convey the idea in my overall image."
Observations and reactions to life experiences/human relationships, and our interaction with natural phenomena fuel the images in my work. I focus on printmaking—especially hand-pulled lithography & intaglio-and mixed media drawings. I incorporate my drawings, paintings, photography, hand-made objects/ found objects as interrelated parts of my prints and drawings. Bois d' Arc Press, founded 2007,
is my working studio and print shop in Amarillo, TX. I also teach drawing and design as adjunct faculty in the art department at West Texas A&M University in Canyon, TX. I show in solo exhibitions, national/international juried and invitational exhibitions throughout the United States and my work is in numerous permanent and private collections in the United States, Australia, and Malaysia.
Education includes a Master of Fine Arts in studio art; a Master of Arts in English; a Bachelor of Arts in English/art education from West Texas A&M University, Canyon, TX and an Associate Applied Science in graphic design, Amarillo College.
